What Is Moz? SEO Software & Domain Authority

Moz is an SEO software provider best known for popularising Domain Authority (DA), alongside keyword research, link analysis, rank tracking and site audits.

Moz helped shape modern SEO, and its Domain Authority score became a shorthand many marketers still use to gauge a site's competitive strength. The platform covers the familiar range — keyword research, link explorer, rank tracking and technical audits — with a focus on accessibility for less technical users.

Domain Authority, like Ahrefs' Domain Rating, is a third-party estimate on a 0–100 scale, not a Google ranking factor. It is best used to compare sites relative to each other over time, not as an absolute target.
